Jodi Kennedy

Interim Director

Jodi Kennedy is the Associate Director of the Office of Leadership and Community Engagement. She coordinates the Leadership Lecture Series, LEAD Scholarship program, and the BUILD program. Jodi earned her Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Sacramento, and her Master of Science in College Student Personnel from the University of Tennessee.  Jodi is originally from California and has been at Georgia Southern since July of 2006.

John Banter

John Banter

Associate Director

John Banter is the Associate Director of the Office of Leadership and Community Engagement. He directs the Southern Leaders Program and LEAD Courses. John holds graduate degrees in the areas of leadership, Homeland Security management, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership: Higher Education here at Georgia Southern.  John has been at Georgia Southern since June of 2011.

John Egan

Leadership Educator

John Egan is the Leadership Educator in the Office of Leadership and Community Engagement.  He works to improve leadership programming for Freshman in the Southern Leaders Program, while also teaching LEAD courses.  He earned his B.S. Ed. in Sport Management and A.B.J. in Telecommunications at the University of Georgia prior to completing his Master of Science in Kinesiology (Sport Management & Policy) also at UGA.  John is currently pursuing an Ed. D. in Educational Leadership at Georgia Southern, and joined the OLCE team in July of 2016.

Urkovia Andrews

Assistant Director for Service-Learning
Dr. Urkovia Andrews is the Assistant Director for Service-Learning in the Office of Leadership and Community Engagement. Urkovia coordinates the Service-Learning Advisory Board, Service-Learning Faculty Fellows, and the Service-Learning Student Facilitators. Urkovia is a Triple Eagle with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations, a Master of Public Health, and a Doctorate of Public Health degree from Georgia Southern University.
Prior to assuming her current position, Urkovia served as a faculty member in the Communication Arts Department and then as Executive Director of the Hearts and Hands Clinic, a local non-profit. Having worked with service-learning as a faculty member and as a community partner, Urkovia is committed to assisting faculty and community organizations in the development of service-learning opportunities for Georgia-Southern students.

Brandi Hoffman

Coordinator of Alternative Breaks & Community Partnerships

Brandi Hoffman is the Coordinator of Alternative Breaks & Community Partnerships. She advises the Alternative Breaks (AB) Board and works to establish and strengthen relationships with community partners locally, domestically and internationally. This is achieved through the combine efforts of the AB Board and the involvement of Georgia Southern students participating in over 20+ Alternative Break trips every year.  Brandi earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania then headed over to Ohio to complete her Master of Education in Higher Education Administration at Kent State University. Brandi joined the OLCE Team in July of 2016.

Jordan Wilburn

Coordinator of Community Engagement

Jordan is the Community Engagement Coordinator for the Office of Leadership and Community Engagement. She works with the office’s local volunteer program, Serve912, facilitating community engagement through long and short-term volunteer opportunities for students. In her work, she finds ways for students to make meaningful connections with the community and to learn the power of community service. She earned her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Illinois and her master’s degree in Public Administration with a nonprofit emphasis from Georgia Southern University. Go Eagles!

Lynn Reaves

Lynn Reaves

Senior Administrative Secretary

Lynn Reaves is the Senior Administrative Secretary in the Office of Leadership and Community Engagement. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia Southern in 1981. Lynn is married to Paul Reaves, also a GSU alumnus and employee, and has three sons – Brandon, Ben, and Andrew.

Upon graduation Lynn was employed by Sea Island Bank for eleven years providing financial reporting to regulatory entities. After homeschooling her children for five years, Lynn held several jobs including office manager of the GSU Baptist Collegiate Ministries, a church children’s director, and a high school bookkeeper before accepting her current position in May 2011.

Ben Phillips

Coordinator of Leadership & Community Engagement – Armstrong Campus
Ben is the Coordinator of Leadership & Community Engagement at the Armstrong Campus. Ben works with Community Partners to offer opportunities for students on the Armstrong Campus to grow and develop as servant leaders. He also works closely with the Statesboro team to offer Alternative Breaks and Service-Learning opportunities for Armstrong campus students. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, and Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Georgia Southern University, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at Georgia Southern. Ben joined the OLCE team in January of 2018.
