Whether you are participating in service for enjoyment, as a part of an organization requirement, or to just give back to others, we want to know about it! Your volunteer hours are a record of your dedication and commitment to meeting legitimate local and national community priorities. Additionally, your service hours can assist the organization and the university, respectfully, in their quest for grant funding.

Through TRACK YOUR IMPACT your volunteer efforts can be recognized on the local and national level. Students who acquire 50 or 100 hours of eligible service within a 12 month time period can apply to receive the appropriate award(s). To ensure recognition in April, National Volunteer Month, student hours must span from February 17, 2023 to February 17, 2024. Hours must be approved in Eagle Engage. See the benefits of all awards!

On the NATIONAL level…

Your impact can be recognized on the national level with a certificate and letter from the President of the United States of America. During the summer of 2019 the Office of Leadership and Community Engagement became a certified organization that can distribute the President’s Volunteer Service Award to volunteers who meet the eligibility requirements. Students who meet qualifications for the President’s Volunteer Service Award will automatically receive the Georgia Southern President’s Volunteer Service Award.

On the LOCAL level…

Your impact can be recognized on the local level with a certificate and various swag items. Students who are eligible for the Georgia Southern President’s Volunteer Service Award are encouraged to apply for the U.S. President’s Service Award.
