Is There a GPA Requirement to Participate In Formal Recruitment?

The GPA to register for recruitment is a 2.75 or higher high school GPA, as calculated by the Georgia Southern University Office of Admissions. This GPA  is based on the Required High School Curriculum. This is NOT the final high school GPA listed on your transcript or your HOPE GPA. Before registering for recruitment, you can check your GPA using your online Admissions Status Check Page.

Current students with an established GPA may register for Primary Recruitment during their undergraduate collegiate career with a Georgia Southern GPA of 2.50 or higher based on at least 12 or more credits. Transfer students with a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher based on at least 12 or more credits may also register for Primary Recruitment.  As you’re looking at your membership options, please keep in mind that some chapters may have a higher GPA requirement for membership

Not sure you want to participate in Formal Recruitment? That’s okay! Come join us for Taste of Recruitment. You will get a taste of what Formal Recruitment will be like, and get an opportunity to meet some of the women before you register! This event is open to anyone who has registered, is interested in joining, or is on the fence about joining a sorority and wants to gain more information about the chapters.

Taste of Recruitment will be on September 6, 2023!

Continuous Open Bidding (COB)/ Spring Recruitment:

Formal Recruitment is the most common way to join one of our three Panhellenic organizations.  This process gives potential members the opportunity to learn about all Panhellenic organizations on campus as well as their philanthropies, values, and sisterhood bonds.  If you are interested in joining a Panhellenic organization, we recommend that you participate in Primary Recruitment, as many chapters will reach their capacity during this process.

The other, and less likely, option for joining a Panhellenic sorority is through Continuous Open Bidding (COB), which is an informal process that some, not all chapters may engage in. The chapters that have available space will participate in this process throughout the academic year. Chapters that will be participating in COB or Spring Recruitment will be announced at the start of the spring semester. Please stay tuned to CPH’s social media for information regarding this announcement.
