When should I make a referral to the Dean of Students Office?

A referral should be made to BAT if an individual displays the following behaviors:

• Threat of harm toward self or others 
• Speaking or writing that seems bizarre 
• Drug/alcohol use to a dangerous level 
• Suicidal ideation 
• Violent fantasy content 
• Anger problems 
• Fascination with weapons 
• Homicidal ideation 
• Stalking 
• Obsession with previous shooting situations 
• Victim/martyr self-concept 
• Paranoia 
• Violence and cruelty 
• Mental health history related to dangerousness 
• Unusual interest in police, military, terrorist activities and materials
