Civil Engineering
Major Information
A civil engineer works in the oldest branch of engineering and is typically engaged in design, construction, operation and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure, such as buildings, roads, bridges, airports, tunnels, water supply and wastewater disposal systems. With its orientation toward applications rather than theory – the distinctive feature of the Georgia Southern Civil Engineering program – the CE curriculum provides its students with broad exposure to three major areas within the discipline of civil engineering – environmental, structural, and transportation.
