*TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is committed to the continued service, engagement and support of our Georgia Southern participants. In response to the current circumstances presented by COVID-19 and recommendations by the CDC as well as the University System of Georgia, we are reducing the amount of staff who are physically on our campuses in Savannah and Statesboro. We will maintain all communication, support and contact with SSS participants. Our primary means of communication will be email and/or by phone. Again, we are committed to the success of our participants and will continue doing so regardless of the challenges ahead. We ask that you continue to make us aware of any obstacles you may face during this new normal!*
Student Support Services
Through a grant competition, funds are awarded to institutions of higher education to provide opportunities for academic development, assist students with basic college requirements, and to motivate students toward the successful completion of their post-secondary education. Nationally, TRIO has over 1,080 Student Support Services programs and serve over 205,000 students.
The SSS program provides comprehensive services to first-generation students, low-income students, and students with disabilities. The primary goal of SSS is to help transition, retain, and graduate students at Georgia Southern. Through our services, we provide opportunities for academic development, assist with college requirements, and serve to motivate students toward the successful completion of their undergraduate degree program.
