Division Student Learning Outcomes

The Division of Students Affairs supports the following student learning outcomes. Students who participate in Student Affairs programs will…


Community Engagement

Demonstrates a commitment to meeting community identified needs through participation in service/volunteer activities.

Health & Wellness

Engages in behaviors and contributes to environments that promote holistic wellness and reduces risk.

Inclusive Excellence

Examine one’s own identity and culture to foster meaningful engagement with others.

Career Readiness

Articulate skills, strengths, knowledge, and experiences relevant to one’s career development.

Leadership Development 

Demonstrates skill in guiding and assisting a group, organization or community in meeting its goals.  


In support of these student learning outcomes, departments have reported their own student learning outcomes for work they have done throughout the 2020-2021 academic year. 95.8% of 26,939 respondents met the targeted student learning outcomes as reported by Student Affairs departments.

Campus Recreation & Intramurals

96% of patrons identified their participation in a program allowed them to demonstrate skills in guiding and assisting a group, organization, or community in meeting its goals

Counseling Center

Clients showed greater clinical improvement than 81.5 – 99.5% of University counseling center clients nationwide well above the mean rate of change, which is 50%.

99% of students in CRI programs reported their participation contributed to increasing their holistic wellness and reducing risk.


Student Wellness and Health Promotion

91% of students who engage in wellness programming report that programming had a positive impact in creating an intention for change in their health behavior.

In OC&PD, 94% of students reported they were more prepared to effectively communicate their experiences to an employer.

100% of Counseling Center trainees attained entry-level professional competencies (in accordance with their respective degree level) by the end of their year-long training program.

85% of students working for CRI feel their experience increased or improved their ability to articulate skills, strengths, knowledge and experiences relevant to one’s career development.

75% of students and staff will understand the Graduate/Professional schools application process by being part of the OMA mentoring program.
