2. How many seats are in each college?
With the exception of the College At-Large delegation having ten senators, all college delegations will have five Senators. Within every college delegations, four out of every five Senators will be elected, while one out of every five is to be reserved for a freshman student appointment. If there are any additional open Senate seats, the Senate’s Senate Selection Committee may appoint qualified applicants to the Senate with a majority vote of the respective Senate.
3. What are the candidate requirements?
Candidate qualifications are outlined in the Spring 2018 Elections Guidelines.
4. Does it cost to run?
No, there is no financial cost to run in the Student Government Association. However, if a candidate chooses to campaign, then all campaign materials are purchased independently.
5. Do I have to be affiliated with a ticket?
No, a candidate does not have to be affiliated with a ticket to run for a position in Student Government Association. A candidate may run as an independent.
6. If elected, am I required to attend meetings on all three campuses?
Elected members of the Student Government Association are not required to attend weekly senate meetings at other campuses. Unless an event or meeting that is university wide and predetermined, then attendance is required.
