Cultural Heritage Month Celebrations

The MLK Commemorative Events provides an opportunity for the campus and community to gather and celebrate the life and legacy of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Events include annual parades in Savannah and Statesboro, service learning opportunities, and a keynote speaker.

Holi Festival of Colors

Translated as the “Festival of Colors,” Holi is a traditional holiday celebrated by Hindus and Sikhs. Holi Festival has an ancient origin and celebrates the triumph of good over bad. It is a socio-cultural festival during which a wide range of colors are smeared over each other as a mark of love and belonging, and to welcome the spring season.

Multicultural Achievement Celebrations

These celebrations are in honor of graduates to celebrate their contributions to the GS community and accomplishments. We host Lavender Graduation (LGBTQ), Donning of the Kente (Black/African American), Latinx, Asian, and Indigenous celebrations in the Spring semester.
