History

Major Information

The study of history has long been recognized as central to a liberal arts education and has served as a  foundation for successful careers in many fields. Although the study of history is most often associated with  careers in law, public service, teaching, and the academic world, the skills learned through historical study  have proven useful in a great variety of other settings. Students should attempt to emphasize to employers the skills that were gained through the study of history, particularly the ability to conduct independent  research, to analyze and integrate large amounts of information, and to present ideas in clear and logical  writing.
