Theatre

Major Information

“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players; they have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts,” –Shakespeare. The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre will give you the foundation to excel in a very diverse industry. From on stage to back stage you will be engaged in acting for the stage and screen, directing, design, stage management, dramaturgy and technical theatre. You will also learn how to communicate effectively, identify historical styles and periods, while also demonstrating skills in design for theatre such as scenery lighting, costume, and sound. While studying at Georgia Southern University you will be prepared to enter a professional work setting in the entertainment industry and other paths that require problem solving, group dynamics, deadlines, and collaboration. Your act begins in four stages: freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior. Where will you take our stage?
