Recycled Boat Regatta

In partnership with Southern Adventures and the Department of Facilities, the Recycled Boat Regatta is an event that shows how everyday items can find a second life in new ways. Crews of one to four students have the opportunity to build boats from various recycled materials, such as cardboard, 2- liter bottles, milk jugs, and plastic barrels. Regatta teams race their recycled boats against other students over a course on Lake Ruby. Winners in categories of fastest time, best sinker, and most creative boat will receive trophies, but being part of the Recycle Regatta is a great experience that goes beyond winning.
