The Upward Bound Program provides mentoring through a program called the Mentoring Academy (MA). The academy provides individual and group counseling in an array of areas such as academics, personal, career, as well as college survival skills. The college students that are involved in the Mentoring Academy work with student two Saturdays a month during the academic school year and work with the students during the summer residential program. Also, many of the college students began their participation through the Black Student Alliance and through the Alphi Phi Alpha Fraternity.
