How to Apply
Russell Union offers a variety of student employee positions. Please call 478-0399 or visit Rm. 2070 in the Russell Union if you are interested in joining our team. You must be willing to work a minimum of 10 hours and have satisfactory academic performance.

Please download and fill out an application (Microsoft Word Document) prior to visiting our office. Return your completed application along with your class schedule to the Russell Union office, Room 2070.

Job Descriptions
  • Building Manager
  • Building Managers supervise all aspects of Union operations when the administrative staff is not present. The Senior Manager is also responsible for scheduling managers and conducting monthly meetings.

  • Information Desk Attendant
  • Information Desk Attendants serve as guest coordinators and are often the first points of contact for many visitors to the University. They provide information, directions, and general advice on University and Union policies and procedures. The Manager is responsible for all Information Center operations and for scheduling attendants.

  • Office Assistant and Office Assistant - Reservations
  • Office Assistants report to the staff person who manages their office. Duties will vary according to the responsibilities of the office. Customer service and general office skills are both required. Reservation Assistants are responsible for scheduling space reserved by different groups in the Union and Williams Center and processing requests from student organizations for events at other campus locations.

  • Projectionist
  • Projectionists work directly with all the movies shown at the Russell Union. They are trained in the operation of a 35mm Movie Projector.

  • Facilities Management Team and Facilities Management Team Leader
  • The Facilities Management Team provides the setup facilities for all events in the Union, and maintains equipment and furnishings. They are an important link to customers, providing last minute needs for the success of customer functions. Facilities Management TeamLeaders supervise their crew and are responsible for their performance.

  • Technical Services Assistant
  • The Technical Services Assistant works directly with customers providing inventory, setup, operation, and tear-down of audiovisual equipment for events held in the Union and at other campus locations.

  • Van Detailer
  • It is the job of the van detailer to maintain the Russell Union van fleet in good mechanical condition as well as keep vans clean for customer use.

    Rate of Pay
    Most student employees begin at the minimum wage. However, positions of leadership are paid at a higher rate. Pay raises are based upon performance.
