There are many ways to gain creative experience in photography, videography and graphic design, page layouts etc.  For more information on how to join contact the Creative Manager at prodmgr@georgiasouthern.edu.

Photography

Student Media’s photojournalists gain an array of experiences ranging from a bus explosion for The George-Anne to directing an artistic photoshoot for our Magazines Department. They have covered celebrity interviews as well as football games in triple overtime. Student Media photojournalists are more than people who can point cameras and click- Student Media photojournalists are storytellers.

Videography

Our videographers gain experience by producing and directing talk shows with The George-Anne’s anchors. These shows air on Statesboro’s cable TV network. Videographers also shoot news clips for thegeorgeanne.com, our daily news site. This division provides incomparable, real-world training with video equipment and editing. See what we’re up to on our Youtube channel.

Web Design and Development

The web design and development team provides support and creative vision for thegeorgeanne.com, which has consistently been recognized as one of the best news sites in the state.

Graphic Design

Our graphic design team creates original art for all of Student Media’s departments. Designers create advertisements, design glossy, full-color magazines and produce The George-Anne’s print edition. We utilize Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. See what our design team’s daily work looks like.
