If you are interested in gaining valuable volunteer experience, there are several opportunities here at the Student Disability Resource Center. Our volunteer note takers provide an important service by sharing a copy of their class notes with qualified students. As a way to thank our volunteer note takers, we make it possible for them to participate in Early Registration. Volunteer note takers are also eligible for different types of service hour credit, including Honors Experiential Learning, OSLCE volunteer service hours, and many Georgia Southern sorority and fraternity chapters. We also have a mentoring program, which matches new students who are interested with a peer mentor. Mentors can help facilitate a smooth transition to college or to Georgia Southern in particular by being a great resource regarding Georgia Southern’s numerous student services and organizations, by providing peer contacts in a social capacity, and by encouraging academic excellence.

If you are interested in being a VOLUNTEER NOTE TAKER or a MENTOR, please call our office at (912)478-1566.
