Excellence In Diversity Awards
Excellence in Diversity Awards are given each year by the Multicultural Student Center. The purpose of the Excellence in Diversity Awards is to recognize and honor those campus constituents that have contributed to increasing the appreciation of diversity at Georgia Southern University. Recognized individuals and organizations are those who have served as leaders in influencing, promoting, and encouraging a campus environment where all are respected regardless of differences. Individuals and groups may nominate themselves. The winners of these nominations will be determined by the Excellence in Diversity Selection Committee.
All groups or individuals are encouraged to participate by completing a nomination form above.
Excellence in Diversity Award Descriptions
Randolph S. Gunter Distinguished Faculty/staff Award
The Distinguished Faculty/Staff Award is awarded to a faculty/staff that is admired and respected by the students of Georgia Southern University for their outstanding dedication to advocating for diversity issues both in and out of the classroom. The recipient of this award has excelled in leadership, has a proven commitment to diversity, and is committed to the students at Georgia Southern University.
Dalmyra Price Student Leadership Award
This award is presented to a multicultural student organization leader that is admired and respected by the members for their outstanding dedication to leadership, success, and development of the organization.
Best Diversity Program of The Year Award
This award will be presented to the multicultural organization which sponsored the most innovative, creative, or ground-breaking project or program which displayed a commitment to diversity, programming, and the students at Georgia Southern University.
Excellence in Diversity Woman of The Year Award
The Excellence in Diversity Woman of the Year Award is awarded to a female graduating senior who is admired and respected by their peers for their commitment to diversity, leadership, and the students at Georgia Southern University.
Excellence in Diversity Man of The Year Award
The Excellence in Diversity Man of the Year Award is awarded to a male graduating senior who is admired and respected by their peers for their commitment to diversity, leadership, and the students at Georgia Southern University.
