Mr. Rainey was born in Fort Lewis, Washington. As an Army Brat, he has lived in Texas, New Jersey, twice in Germany, and Georgia. He graduated from Richmond Academy in Augusta, Georgia, where he lettered in football, basketball, and track before accepting a football scholarship to South Carolina State University. He transferred to Georgia Southern the following year to join his brother as a member of the Eagles’ football team.
He graduated from Georgia Southern with a Bachelor’s of General Studies with emphases in Writing and Linguistics and a minor in Psychology.
Mr. Rainey has been employed by Georgia Southern since 2001, beginning as a student assistant in the Financial Aid office before joining the staff at Printing & Postal Services, where he worked for 11 years.
He has served as a Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) volunteer here at Georgia Southern and has started work on his Master’s in Military Social Work.
Mr. Rainey joined the staff at the MVSC in June 2016. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Allison, who is also a Georgia Southern graduate and employee.
