PACE: Pursuing Academics, Community, and Excellence
PACE is a great option for freshman students who desire a community aimed at assisting with the freshman transition without the structure of reserved classes. Resources are abundant in this community to assist with academic development, community involvement, and personal exploration. Resources include low student/staff ratio, social programming, faculty programming, computer lab, community service opportunities, and living with freshman only. PACE community members are required to participate in community service projects and residence hall programs.
- PACE will be housed in Johnson Hall
Program Goal: Participants will transition into the first year by establishing University connections through academic, social, and civic engagement.
Objectives:
- Participants will be provided a minimum of two programming opportunities per month in each of the following areas:
community service, campus involvement, academics, and intramurals.
- Participants will have the opportunity to develop relationships with other first year students through informal academic, social, and community interactions.
- Participants will have the opportunity to develop communication skills, leadership skills, community responsibility, and multicultural and diversity awareness.
- Participants will have access to resources and staff to enhance student success at the University.
