Are your housing plans for Spring 2010 changing?

Do you plan to move off campus but remain a student at Georgia Southern for spring semester? Students who wish to buy out of the Housing Contract may do so under the terms of the contract. Please refer to the contract at www.gsuhousing.com/contracts/ for specific information.

Please refer to your housing contract for information about canceling your housing contract:
Releases after occupancy date After August 10, 2009 if you want to cancel your housing contract and want to continue as a student at Georgia Southern, you will remain responsible for all housing fees through date of check out for the semester in which you cancel the contract, plus 50% of the remaining cost of the housing contract which ends on May 8, 2010.

Are you Graduating? Student Teaching? Studying Abroad? Transferring to another institution or just taking a semester off? Current on-campus residents who will not be living on campus for the spring semester need to notify the housing office by November 1, 2009, that they will not be returning to the residence halls. If so, you must complete the following steps:

1. Complete the on-line cancellation at using the link provided below. Does it matter when I cancel? Yes!
• if you cancel by Nov. 1, there is no cancellation fee
• if you cancel between Nov. 2-Dec. 1, there is a $100.00 cancellation fee
• if you cancel after Dec. 2 up to the first day of the spring semester, there is a $200.00 cancelation fee
2. Provide official documents of your involvement in one of the above programs to the Housing Office to complete your cancellation.
3. Check out of your residence hall with your RA and return your keys to avoid any improper check-out, cleaning, and/or lost key charges.

Do you live in university housing and plan on not returning to Georgia Southern for spring 2010? If so, please complete the cancellation form below and the proper cancellation fee will be assessed. Students who withdraw after October 15, 2009 (Fall Semester) or March 15, 2010 (Spring Semester) are not eligible for any housing refunds of their semester rent.
