Eagle Incentive Program (EIP)
Quick Facts about how to apply for University Housing
|
| |
|
|
| |
When can I apply for Housing?
Once you have been accepted to the EIP program by the Office of Admissions, paid your
non-refundable $100.00 deposit to Admissions and turned in your EIP contract to Admissions,
you may apply to live on campus for the EIP Program.
|
What do I need to apply?
To apply, you will need your Eagle ID (the student ID number Admissions has randomly assigned
you), the password sent to you by the housing office.
|
Where will students live during the EIP program?
During the EIP program, students will live in Kennedy Hall in a suite or an apartment.
For more information on these options, see the
Communities page.
|
How do I tell you who I want for my roommate?
If you desire to live with a specific person, you will need to indicate that person's full name
and their Eagle ID when you complete your housing application. You may request only one other
person as a roommate. All roommate requests must be mutual. If you and your desired roommate
have not mutually requested each other, you will not be assigned together. Also, keep in mind
that roommate assignments are based on the average application complete date of both roommates,
so encourage your roommate to apply early too.
|
Is there an Application Fee?
Yes. Your application must be submitted with a $100 non-refundable application fee. You may pay your housing deposit via check, money order, or credit card by
clicking here.
Please do not send cash through the mail. Your application is not considered complete until we
receive both the application and the deposit.
If you also apply for Fall 2008, you only need to pay the $100 application fee once.
|
Didn't I already pay a $100 Application Fee?
No. The $100 application deposit for the EIP program that is paid to the
Admissions Office is used to secure your seat in the academic component of the EIP
program. All students must pay the $100 non-refundable housing application fee when
they apply for housing. EIP students pay this fee only once, whether they apply for
summer or for both summer and Fall-Spring housing.
|
How will I know that you received my application?
Once your application has been processed you will receive notification your application is
complete and the date it is complete. The Application Complete Date will be the date by which
we will make your room assignment. Should there be any problems with your application,
or application fee, we will only notify you via email. Please be sure that Georgia Southern
has your correct email address on file.
|
How are residence hall assignments made?
All residence hall assignments are made on a modified* first come first served basis so it is
important to apply for housing as soon as possible after receiving your acceptance to the
university.
(*Roommates are assigned by the average Application Complete Date of both roommates.)
|
Should I also apply for a space for University Housing for 2008-2009?
We encourage all students to live on campus, especially during their first year, and since our room
assignments are based on a first come first served basis, we encourage you to apply for both the
summer and for the fall at the same time. EIP students are eligible to live in any all student or
first year residence hall community except the RIGS program in Watson Pods.
|
When will I find out what my room assignment will be?
Residence Hall assignments for summer EIP and fall will be made in mid to late May and you will be notified of your assignment at that time. For the fall and the summer, you must sign and return a residence hall contract. For Fall 2008, your signed housing contract must be returned with the $200 pre-payment.
|
What if I change my mind about living on campus?
Once you have signed the housing contract and paid the $200.00 pre-payment, you are bound to all
terms and conditions of the Residence Hall Contract. Please refer to the housing contract
regarding canceling your housing while enrolled.

Can I request a change in my assignment after I receive it?
You can submit a request at
www.gsuhousing.com until July 1, 2008. However, we are unable to guarantee that we will be able to accommodate the change request. All changes are based on the availability of space, the number of requests, and the date that the request is received. We will not be able to make any changes to the EIP summer
assignments once they are made.
|
What if I retake the SAT/ACT and receive the required score or I decide not to attend
Georgia Southern University, what do I need to do?
If you receive the required score or change your mind about living on campus for the EIP program,
you will need to cancel your housing, although the $100 application fee is non-refundable.
Please log on to
