Creed: Seeks to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards and to promote unity and friendship among university women.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was founded in 1908 at Howard University, in Washington, D.C. by a group of nine students. Since their founding, over a century ago, Alpha Kappa Alpha has helped to improve social and economic conditions through community service programs. AKA was chartered at Georgia Southern University in the spring of 1977.
