Fraternity and Sorority Life Excellence Awards
Georgia Southern University welcomes and supports the recognition of inter/national fraternities and sororities as an integral part of the University community. The University sees that the founding principles of these national organizations foster the highest ideals that society would encourage among men and women. The ideals of superior scholarship, community service, philanthropy, membership, social responsibility, values and the development of principled leaders are very compatible with Georgia Southern University’s expectations and desires for student development. While these organizations do receive the University’s support, they are expected to meet certain standards of performance.
The Greek Excellence Awards was created to improve the management, success, and image of the fraternity and sorority chapters at Georgia Southern University.
The chapter must be in good standing with both their inter/national organization and Georgia Southern to be considered for the excellence awards during the awards time period. Decisions regarding chapters not in good standing will be made on a case-by- case basis for the programming awards.
Excellence Awards cover the time period of August to May, A full academic year. Submissions will be made the following fall with awards being held in November. The winners will be chosen by an awards committee.
Each chapter must complete the Chapter Information Page as well as the Signature Page. You will turn in an electronic copy in doc or pdf form with the Chapter Information Page, followed by the Signature Page. Excellence Awards will all be submitted via MyInvolvement, everything must be submitted by the deadline, no late submissions or supplemental materials will be accepted.
