Alpha Omicron Pi

Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity was founded on January 2, 1897 at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City. The ideals of sincerity, service, and friendship provide the foundation for AOII.

AOII is inspired to promote the values of simplicity, integrity, tolerance, generosity, personal dignity, and love. Their lives are to be living symbols of the values that they hold in common. They enable them to go with character and confidence into the world around them, with assurance in knowing AOII is theirs, offering friendships and opportunities throughout our lifetime.

The Object of the Fraternity

The object of the Fraternity shall be to encourage a spirit of Fraternity and love among its members; to stand at all times for character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty; to strive for and support the best interest of the colleges and universities in which chapters are installed, and in no way to disregard, injure, or sacrifice those interests for the sake of prestige or advancement of the Fraternity or any of its chapters.

Mission Statement

The Mission Statement is a clear and concise representation of our organization to the outside community.

Philanthropy:

AOII’s philanthropic mission is to raise money for and spread awareness and understanding of arthritis and its more than 100 related diseases. They support the Arthritis Foundation. By holding Strike Out Arthritis! events both at the chapter and international level, they are able to contribute millions of dollars toward education initiatives, assistance for families affected by arthritis, and new research that will hopefully one day find a cure!

Sisterhood

The sisters at AOII participate in monthly sisterhood events. From paint wars, to ice cream nights, to Bible Studies, and movie nights, there will always be something going on at the AOII house. Sisterhood retreats occur each semester, and allow all the sisters a time to get away from Statesboro and grow in friendship and love for each other.
