Types of Aid
There are four broad categories of financial aid: grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study. Georgia Southern offers many options in each category. Programs are federally, state, and privately funded and may be based on financial need, merit, or a combination of both. Some types of aid are also non-need based and designed to assist with the Expected Family Contribution.
