Office Services and Programs

The Dean of Students Office assists students in working through various
challenges and experiences while attending Georgia Southern. Whether
the issue is financial, academic, or social, our goal is to assist students in
meeting the challenge. You can share your concerns with the Dean of
Students by emailing deanofstudents@georgiasouthern.edu or calling
(912)GSU-DEAN (478-3326) to schedule an appointment.

Those services are as follows:

Notification to Faculty	In the event of student illness, injury, or extenuating circumstances, the DOS office will notify professors at his or her request. However, a student notification is not an excuse for missing class. The University does not issue excuses to students for class absences. For more information, please call (912)GSU-DEAN (478-3326)
Student Withdrawal Process	A student who wishes to voluntarily withdraw from all classes while in session must do so via the Dean of Students Office. Please read the details pertaining to the withdrawal process.
"Talk With the Dean"	This program promotes student/administrative interaction and involves constant communication with students. Would you like to voice your opinion to a campus administrator? If you are interested, please call the Dean of Students Office at (912)GSU-DEAN (478-3326) or facebook me.
Commencement Decorum Guidelines	Commencement affirms the quest for knowledge for each student. The faculty, staff and administration of the university have planned and made preparations to make this ceremony as inspiring and enjoyable as possible for all graduates and spectators. In addition to the Commencement Information Brochure and graduation letters mailed to graduation candidates, a Commencement Decorum Guideline document is also available for your review. Please pay careful attention to these guidelines as they are aimed to ensure that the ceremony goes smoothly. Click here for more information.
