Mark Pérez-López, Ph.D.
Dr. Pérez-López received his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Arkansas. He completed an internship and post-doctoral training at the Cook Counseling Center at Virginia Tech. He joined the Counseling Center staff in 2010 after several years as a staff psychologist at Virginia Tech and working in private practice. Dr. Pérez-López’s clinical interests include body image dissatisfaction and eating disorders, assessment, anxiety, and relationship dysfunction. He has published several articles and book chapters on body image and its impact on the use and abuse of performance enhancing drugs in society. His therapeutic style is influenced by cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, and brief treatment models.
