Volunteers in Action Experiences

Want to lead meaningful change? Consider a VIA Experience!

Project leadership opportunities available with local agencies.

VIA Project Leaders work 5-15 hours week, leading meaningful projects with our local Community Partners. Choose to work in Activities Planning, Special Events Management, Grant Writing, Research, Social Media, Marketing/PR, Volunteer Management, Non-Profit Management — over 50 positions available!

Students: Students interested in a VIA Experience should search through the current postings below, review the Community Partner’s entry in the Community Partner Listing and then contact the organization at the email provided on the position description. Students should be prepared to provide a current resume, cover letter and references, and participate in a professional interview. Hours per week are negotiable, and expectations should be agreed upon during your interview. Step by step instructions available here.

Your goal is to complete a full project and leave with new skills, a positive evaluation, a strong letter of commendation, and a great line on your resume!

These experiences are generally available to all students. Upperclassmen and graduate students may be able to define the experience as an internship or practicum for academic credit. You will need to meet with your academic adviser to investigate this possibility, and course registration with tuition will be necessary.

Community Partners: The blank position description form to fill out and submit is here. Please download the form to Acrobat Reader, fill it in, save under a new name and email to Jason Pollett at jpollett@georgiasouthern.edu. Call or email for assistance. Step by step instructions available here.

This is a new program. VIA Position Descriptions are being posted as they come in. Please check back often for new opportunities!
