Geology
Major Information
The degree program in geology offers a broad education in the sciences with special depth in geology. In addition to the core curriculum of course work in essential skills, geology majors study subjects such as biology, chemistry, economics, international studies, math and physics, and take geology courses appropriate to the program. As the most integrative of sciences, geology is also the one most directly concerned with the major environmental issues of resources, hazards, and planning. Georgia Southern’s geology program emphasizes oral and written communication skills, research and problem solving ability, and teamwork.
