Career Exploration and Education

Career Exploration is a helpful way to assist students with issues such as choosing a major, career opportunities within majors and graduate/professional school planning.

Career Resource Center (CRC)
The CRC is available to students Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and from 8:00am to 5:00pm on Fridays. Resources include:

  • Major Binders — Contain a one page fact sheet for every major which describes job opportunities and the skills required.
  • Career Books — Publications about different career fields, grouped in the CRC by major area of study.
  • Job Search Resources — Books, guides, and directories to help students prepare for the job search process.
  • Company Literature — Employer profiles, directories, annual reports, and videotapes assist students in conducting company research.
  • Computer Lab with Internet Access — Available for students to look for jobs on-line, create résumés, research employers, and more.
  • Résumé Samples — Provide an example of what a résumé can contain. There are samples for most all majors at Georgia Southern.
    (also available online)

Career Advising
Appointments are available for one-on-one career advising. Walk-in assistance is available Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and Fridays from 8:00am to 5:00 pm.
