Office of Career Services

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

Career Services works hard to provide services to help you be successful in your job search. When you register with Career Services, you are entering a partnership. Career Services also has partnerships with the hundreds of employers who seek out our assistance with their hiring needs. Like you and our employers, we, too, have standards so we can maximize our efforts in serving all of our constituents. Missed appointments or cancellations inconvenience employers and are inconsiderate of other students who may have desired an appointment but were unable to get on the interview schedule. The situations also have negative implications on the University’s relations with the employer and can affect opportunities for other GSU students.

On campus interviews are conducted in Career Services, in the Williams Center unless otherwise noted. Please report for your interview ten minutes early to allow enough time to check in.

CANCELLATION
Any cancellations require at least 48 Hours Notice. Missing An Interview, Arriving Late, Or Canceling Within 48 Hours Are All Regarded As No-Shows.

NO-SHOW
A No-Show is defined as an individual who does not notify Career Services more than 48 hours prior to the interview of his or her inability to honor the appointment. Career Services will notify you vie email of your missed interview and inform you about the no-show policy.

If you No-Show:
All Future Interviewing Privileges Will Be Revoked Until An Approved Letter Of Apology Is Written To The Employer At Once Explaining The Reason For The No Show. An Administrative Staff Member Must Approve This Letter. Failure To Follow These Guidelines Will Result In Immediate Revocation Of All Future Interviews.
