|Internships and Co-ops
Your organization can schedule a time to come to campus and conduct interviews for full -time, co-op, and internship positions. There are three different options for interview schedules at Georgia Southern University: Preselect, Open, and Room Only. To schedule on-campus interview, you will need to log into your Eagle Career Net account and “Request A Schedule” in the “On-Campus Recruitment” tab. You can select to interview all day or just half a day. Employers also have the choice of interview length; this will determine how many interviews you have during the day.
||# of Students Interviewed
This type of schedule allows recruiters to select from submitted résumés prior to the interview date. Students who are chosen will have the opportunity to sign up for an interview time-slot.
Open Interview Schedules
Open interviews allow students to sign up for interviews on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students do have to meet the recruiter’s requirements before they can sign up.
Room Only Schedules
Recruiters have the opportunity to reserve a room only. They will be responsible for filling up their own schedules. Many recruiters pick these students from career fairs, information sessions or résumé referrals. Only students and alumni from Georgia Southern University are allowed to interview at the Office of Career and Professional Development.
After you have scheduled your interview on Eagle Career Net, you will receive a Confirmation Packet via email (at the address attached to your name in Eagle Career Net). This packet includes confirmation of dates and locations of interviews, a parking pass, and driving directions to the campus. If you require additional parking passes, please let us know as soon as possible.
Changing or Canceling Schedules
Changes and/or canceling a schedule can be accommodated prior to TWO WEEKS before the interview date. If you wish to make any changes or to cancel please contact our office. Changes made within two weeks of the date may affect the amount of students participating in your recruitment visit. If you have to cancel your visit, please let us know as soon as possible as we will need to inform the students.
Information Sessions are usually scheduled the night before employer on-campus interviews. These sessions are great tools for new employers recruiting on campus as well as companies who are familiar with Georgia Southern University to reach qualified candidates. Info sessions are designed to give candidates basic company information, e.g. demographics, culture, future organizational plans, job information, benefits, company history.
To schedule your information session please log into Eagle Career Net and submit a request (Click the Events Tab > Information Sessions > Add New). Your request will be approved within 48 business hours.
Information Session Tips:
- Info Session will be conducted at the Career Resource Center in the Office of Career and Professional Development (unless requested by the employer).
- Info sessions will be advertised on the Office of Career and Professional Development Webpage under “Events Calendar”.
- While attendance at information sessions is highly encouraged, it is not mandatory (unless indicated by the employer).
- The best sessions are relaxed and informal conversations over pizza and soft drinks.
- Food service can be coordinated through Georgia Southern catering or through a local restaurant.
- Presentations that are short, snappy and jazzy leave the best impression. The sessions should be fun and informative.
