Listed below are some strategies that have proven to be
successful in promoting an organization to our students:
Internships - Many organizations are now using internships
as a way to get an advance look at students. Several hundred
Georgia Southern students participate in these programs each
year. Contact Wallace
Brown for information.
Eagle Expo - Each February and October, the Office of Career
Services sponsors an Eagle Expo to expose students to the
variety of career options available in the current job market.
Representatives from business, government, and nonprofit agencies
attend the fair and distribute information to students through
displays, brochures, and personal conversations. Contact
Career Services for more information.
Dine for Success - In conjunction with the
Eagle Expo, we conduct a program to show the proper forms
of dining etiquette to junior and senior students. Your organization
can sponsor a table and meet these students in a relaxed and
enjoyable environment. Contact Career
Service for more information.
Corporate Sponsorship of Programs/Events - The Office of
Career Services can offset expenses associated with student
programs/events through corporate financial contributions.
The contributing organization's name is included in event
advertising, and its representatives may choose to attend
the event. Contact Warren
Riles for more information.
Presentations/Information Sessions - Some employers host
a meeting before their interview date to present information
about their company. Contact Wallace Brown to arrange a meeting for this purpose.
The George-Anne - The weekly student newspaper provides an
opportunity to advertise a company visit or presentation.
Contact the George-Anne Advertising office for advertising information and costs.
Pre-Screening for On-Campus Interviews - Pre-screening increases
the prospects of attracting a full schedule of candidates
and allows the company an opportunity to review résumés prior
to a campus visit.
Job Postings/Résumé Referrals - Companies who are not able
to conduct on-campus interviews may post job openings. Qualified
students will submit résumés until a posted deadline, after
which, the résumés will be made available to the company.
The company may then contact the students directly or enlist
our help in setting up interviews on campus. Contact Wallace Brown to discuss this option.
