Institute for Community Partnerships

Nonprofits and public agencies are essential to local communities.  The Institute for Community Partnerships at Georgia Southern University aims to support the accomplishments of nonprofits and public agencies whose work benefits Bulloch County and its surrounding communities. Through partnerships with practitioners and connections to University resources, the Institute helps cultivate and strengthen our collective resources to meet community needs. Through this initiative organizations have further opportunity to communicate, collaborate, and build capacity to address community needs.

As a participant in the Institute for Community Partnerships, individuals will be able to:

Communicate: Access a variety of events and activities provided by community partners, campus, and industry, along with a range of volunteers.

Collaborate: Build and strengthen connections with other nonprofit and public agencies, along with various Georgia Southern faculty and students whose work align with the organization mission and goal.

Build Capacity: Receive desired professional skills training as well as one-on-one leadership development to become an even stronger member of the organization.

Interested organizations will complete and submit an application to denote interest and commitment to participate in the once-a-month sessions for eight-months. Topics covered during the sessions will be determined in advance thorough a collaborative effort of the community partners.

Participation in the Institute for Community Partnerships is $200 and is non-refundable. This fee covers the once-a-month sessions for eight months, which includes the following:

  • lunch for each session
  • all materials
  • leadership assessment
  • leadership coaching
  • recognition of completion

Sessions take place every second Wednesday from September 2021 to April 2022. Applications are open for 2021-2022.
